The Coolawanyah Road redevelopment project, overseen by Karratha Earthmoving in three distinct phases, encompassed extensive infrastructure improvements. Covering over 2,000 metres of road, the project involved the meticulous removal of existing sealed surfaces and failed road base material, followed by rigorous subgrade reworking and compaction to support new basecourse material. Upgrades to under-road drainage included the installation of culverts with headwalls and rock pitching. Utilising recycled concrete road base sourced locally, the project further incorporated the installation of approximately 2,847 linear metres of flush kerbing and 958 linear metres of semi-mountable kerbing along road edges. Asphalt sealing progressed incrementally following kerbing installation, aiming to enhance road durability and safety for the Coolawanyah community.

Highlighting the project’s execution were strategic night works implemented to minimise disruption to local businesses during critical phases of material removal and replacement. The successful completion of each project phase by Karratha Earthmoving led to subsequent stage awards based on stringent performance criteria, underscoring their commitment to quality and efficiency. This approach not only improved local infrastructure but also demonstrated a thoughtful consideration of community needs, ensuring minimal impact on daily activities while achieving significant enhancements in road functionality and longevity in the Coolawanyah region.
